Economic Immigration
Hundreds of thousands of people per year become permanent residents through one of the many economic pathways available. The fastest and most popular pathway is the Express Entry system, which allows you and your family members to immigrate to Canada based on your skills, experience and personal attributes.
For those with a background in business and entrepreneurship, there are the Provincial Nominee Programs or PNPs. These provincial programs support your application for permanent residence by way of offering you a nomination of support on your application. Other pathways in the PNPs are available to students and skilled workers with an offer of employment.
Family Sponsorship
Uniting family members is a high priority for the Government of Canada which is why there exist many pathways to permanent residence through the Family Class. To apply, a family member such as a spouse, child or parent, who is already a permanent resident of Canada, must become a sponsor. Next, a family member can apply for permanent residence. If the applications are accepted, the family member becomes a permanent resident of Canada.
Refugee
Canada is a nation of tolerance and acceptance and bids by the UN Declaration of Human Rights. Becoming a refugee in Canada means declaring sanctuary from whatever threatens your well-being from fear of death, persecution, torture or punishment. To qualify as a refugee you must submit a claim and appear in a hearing in front of a member of the Immigration Refugee Board.
